Motorcyclist chased by police crashes into wall

A man trying to flee two chasing police motorcycles on his motorbike lost control and crashed into a concrete wall in Taba, Uruma City, about midnight on Saturday.

According to Uruma Police, the 31-year-old driver of the bike lost control and crashed when he tried to negotiate a right turn at a crossing while two police motorbikes were in pursuit. The man suffered a skull fracture and was taken to a hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say the officers had ordered the man to stop after he ignored a traffic light in the Koza intersection in Okinawa City. However, he tried to run away. Two police motorcycles gave a chase as he sped away.

Police officials say the chasers kept about 100-meter distance behind the fleeing motorbike, adding, “Our internal investigation has found the officers conducted the chase according to all regulations without any problem.”
