What better time of the year for one of the hottest festivals on the island?  One of the most popular summer festivals in MCCS calendar is almost here—Hansen Fest – that MCCS hosts on Saturday, Sep. 23 and Sunday, Sep. 24 from 1 to 9 p.m. on both days.

This annual festival welcomes all service members, their families and local Okinawans and Japanese to partake in a weekend of festival fun with favorite attractions for all ages, including Fun Land’s rides and bouncers for kids, game booths and more for grown-ups.  Hungry revelers will delight in delicious cultural foods and USA staples, such as sizzling burgers from Bulldogs, succulent BBQ beef brisket and juicy chicken from Hickory House All-American BBQ, pizza, and, for adult patrons, refreshing beverages from Kanpai Lounge.

As a part of MCCS’ Hard Corps Music Series, this year’s festival will feature two legends of red, white and blue rock ‘n roll—southern rock greats Molly Hatchet performing Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and rock guitar virtuoso Ted Nugent LIVE on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Molly Hatchet, originally founded in 1971, is still going strong with a planned album release and special tour to honor service members this year. Performing since 1958, Ted Nugent has released more than 34 albums, sold over 30 million records and played well over 6,000 concerts. He’ll be wielding his hollow-body Gibson Byrdland guitar at this year’ Hansen Fest.
