“Taiwan Fair 2017 in Okinawa” sponsored by Taiwan Tourism Office, Ryukyu Taiwan Friendship Association, and Okinawa Times newspaper, started at the Times Building in Kumoji, Naha City, yesterday, and runs through the weekend. The fair features authentic Taiwanese food, and exhibition of sightseeing spot photos and local Taiwanese products.

Stalls at the fair representing the famous night markets sell Taiwanese Chimaki (cakes wrapped in bamboo leaves), Taiwanese rice bowl dish of pork stewed in soy, and Taiwanese meat pies that all can be gulped down with Taiwanese whiskey or beer.

A representative of the Ryukyu Taiwan Friendship Association said, “We would like to introduce Taiwanese culture through the food and products.”
