“Halekulani”, a luxury hotel in Hawaii, is expanding to Okinawa. Mitsui Real Estate Co., the company that owns Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii, announced Wednesday that it would open Halekulani Okinawa in Nakama, Onna Village, in the summer of 2019.

Halekulani is a fully owned subsidiary of Mitsui Real Estate Co., and the new hotel will be the first Halekulani in Japan.

“Halekulani Okinawa” will be a large hotel standing on a 87,145-square meter land. The building will have 10 floors above the ground with a total floor space of 41,746 square meters. All the 360 guest rooms will face the ocean. The amenities will include an outdoor swimming pool with ocean view, spa with natural hot spring, indoor swimming pool, gym, and restaurants.

Jun Yoshie, the former general manager of The Ritz Carlton Okinawa, has been named the general manager of Halekulani Okinawa.

Halekulani Hawaii, located near Waikiki Beach on Oahu, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Its restaurant has been awarded the highest Award of Excellence by the American Automobile Association for 28 consecutive years.
