“The third Okinawan Dream Peace and Piece Concert” is scheduled for Oct. 27 at Yomitan Village Athletic Park.

The first peace concert was held in 2015 as one of the commemorative events of the 70th anniversary of the end of WW II. About 8,000 people participated in the event, rising to about 10,000 in 2016. The ultimate aim of the concert is to have a total of one million participants including performers.

Six artist groups, including Konishiki Band, Tatsumi Chibana, from Yomitan Village, Diamantes, and Anly from Ie Island, will perform at the concert.

Admission to the concert is free. The venue opens at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 5:30 p.m. For details, call Yomitan Village Municipal Office Planning Department at 098-982-9205.
