Morikawa Park is in the Mashiki district of Ginowan City, adjacent to MCAS Futenma. The park is on a slope and a good place for walking and jogging. The park has not many play equipment, but the giant slider would be fun for kids. During the winter, there are many cherry blossoms blooming, and the view from the upper part of the park is great. At the bottom of the park, there is a spring called “Mori-no kawa” that is cited as the location of where the “Hagoromo (magic robe of maid)” legend of Okinawa. The area of the park is considered very holy, and entering deep into the area behind the spring is a taboo.
