Ryukyu Lantern Festival and Yoakari stamp campaign in Yomitan village
The annual Ryukyu Lantern festival at Murasakimura in Yomitan village will begin on Dec. 4 and continue through March 28th.
The beautiful illumination is from 5:30 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. each night and will include 3,000 lanterns.
The entrance fee is ¥1200 for adults, ¥500 for Junior High and High School students, and ¥400 for Elementary school students. This event is free for children under the age of six.
Murasakimura is an old Ryukyu Kingdom atmosphere theme park, and various illuminations during this time of year will transport you into the beautiful world of traditional Ryukyu.
Yomitan village is also having a special stamp campaign called Yomitan Yoakari. (Yoakari means Night Light)
This campaign is taking place around Yomitan village from December 1st through February 14th. When you purchase any item over ¥1,000 or place an order for more than ¥1000 at the project participating shops, you will receive a stamp. And when you have three stamps on your stamp card, you can enter the special raffle.
You can drop off your completed stamp card at one of the special boxes that have been set up at participating shops in Yomitan village.
More than 150 shops in Yomitan village are participating in the project.
Some of the prizes include travel tickets, hotel accommodation tickets, dinner tickets, lunch tickets, and much more! The raffle winners will be announced on FM Yomitan on February 25th.
