Megumi T. Miranda from Okinawa City was the lucky winner of the Japan Update raffle this week. She won an overnight stay for two at the Best Western Naha Inn. A part of a world-wide chain of business hotels, the Best Western Naha Inn is located in Asato district of Naha City, comfortably close to Naha’s busies entertainment areas adjacent to the famed Kokusai Street.

Megumi has lived all of her life on the island, and has no plans to move anywhere soon. She likes to eat fresh sushi, as “that’s the best-tasting and healthiest food I know.”

She is especially fond of Okinawan summers, and likes to spend her time on the many beaches around the island. But she would also like to go sightseeing to the ancient Japanese capital of Kyoto, and have a tour visiting Hokkaido, perhaps even in the wintertime, as “a snowy landscape is something we definitely don’t see on Okinawa.” And besides, “Hokkaido is famous for their delicious seafood,” she adds.
