Bangkok Airways, JAL now sharing miles, code-share
Bangkok Airways is getting a foothold into Japan with a new code share agreement on select flights operated by Japan Airlines between three airports.
Travelers flying from both Haneda and Narita airports, as well as Osaka’s Kansai Airport, will be able to utilize seamless travel from Japan to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, and then onward to Koh Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai, and further west to Mumbai, India. The service also works the other way.
Bangkok Airways and Japan Airlines have also agreed on a reciprocal mileage tie-up that allows members of each airline’s mileage program to redeem award tickets on either airline. That agreement went into effect November 15th. This addition brings to 15 the number of JAL Mileage Bank partner airlines. JAL officials say they’re committed to creating a program that’s increasingly attractive and beneficial to flying customers.
