A 19-year-old male college student driving a mini car hit 66-yearr-old Satoru Arakaki who had fallen down and was sitting on the road on Kokutai Street in Kamisedo, Chatan, in the evening of Dec. 22.

Arakaki suffered a strong hit on his head, and was taken unconscious to a hopital where he died of his injuries the next day.

According to Okinawa police, Arakaki fell down for some reason when he was crossing the road, and was sitting when he was hit.
