OIST hosts winter classical concert

Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) will be hosting a Winter Concert on Dec. 22, featuring music of Mozart, Brahms, Bizet, and Saint-Aaens.

The concert is free, OIST officials point out with an observation that an event like this in New York, London or Paris would cost “a pretty penny”,  Reservations will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. Monday, December 10th.  The reservations will be opened to the general public at http://www.oist.jp/concert. Each individual will be able to reserve seats for up to four people. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis.

On the program will be Mozart’s ‘Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Serenade No. 13 for Strings in G Major, Brahms Hungarian Dances, Bizet’s Minuet from “The Girl from Arles” and Saint-Saens’ The Swan.

The event will take place in the OIST Auditorium. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. on the 22nd, and the music starts at 2 p.m.. OIST is located in Tancha, Onna-son.
