The exhibition consists of 60 photos of objects and structures dating back to the 6th century.

A special free photographic exhibition showcasing the stone carvings of the pre-encore dynasty of the Kingdom of Cambodia is in progress at the Okinawa Peace Prayer Library through next Tuesday.

The works, which include about 60 photographs of objects dating to the 6^th ~ 8^th century, normally are in the Cambodia National Museum, and include photographs from a national S21 slaughter museum, photographs of documents and pictures.  All works on display have captions in English, Japanese and the Khmer language.

The photo exhibition, Lights and Shadows of Kingdom Cambodia, is a ‘Peace Culture’ creation of the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum, and is being presented as a JICA grass-roots business activity.  The business inherits historical teachings to the next generation, while generating pride in self-culture.  It is, organizers say, designed to transform the productions of a museum into peace culture promotion, sharing the skills and passions of museum activities which Cambodia and Okinawa Prefecture share.

The Photo Exhibition runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Okinawa Peace Prayer Library, in Mabuni, Itoman City.  Admission is free through December 12^th.
