Another busy weekend’s on tap for the central events area at Road Station Itoman as the 3rd South Yachimun Market brings out quality ceramics for display and sale.

The South Yachimun Market runs 10 a.m. ~ 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with admission absolutely free.  One southern technical writer’s works will be sold “on the spot” and visitors can ask plenty of questions about how southern Okinawa pottery is created.

The works of the ceramists centering on southern parts, such as a vases, pots and accessories will be on sale.  The café corner will feature a pottery and plant fair, which will run simultaneously.  This is the third market staged this year, bringing return shoppers.  “All products are good quality, and each one has its own uniqueness,” says a patron at last year’s event.  “I want to buy one if I find one that I think feels good.”

The market, now in its third year, continues to grow.  The Road Station Itoman is hosting the market in the Yukura Building.  Aside from the pottery, organizers have set an area where visitors can taste Okinawa oriented foods, drinks and even sweets. Free parking is available in the Road Station area.
