Traffic jams are a distinct possibility on a northern stretch of the Okinawa Expressway between January and March as construction is taking place on the Yakadaiichi Elevated Bridge.

Construction repairs are taking place between Yaka IC No. 7 and Kin IC No. 8 during the period January 7^th ~ March 7^th.  NEXCO-West is performing the repairs to the Yakadaiichi Elevated Bridge.  During the repairs period, the two lanes of traffic in each direction will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and there will also be some two-way traffic.

NEXCO thanks drivers for their understanding and patience during this construction period.  They warn that traffic jams will be likely during morning and evening rush hours.  Traffic jams are also expected in particular when various events such as the Cherry Blossom Festivals in Nago and Motobu take place.
