Traditional textiles and bingata at OIST

Okinawan traditional textiles and bingata are on exhibit at OIST where a survey is conducted to find out strengths and weaknesses of the products on display.

An Okinawa traditional textiles and bingata show is being staged at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology beginning Monday, but there’s more than just displays.

OIST is working together with the NPO Okinawa Traditional Art & Craft Industry Cooperation Center and Japan Brand RYUKYU to find out what visitors really think about the products on display.  As the exhibition takes place the 18th through 24th at the Restaurant Floor Level B in the OIST Campus Center Building, officials from both OIST and the Industry Cooperation Center will be polling visitors to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the products being exhibited.

The goal is to determine a clear public relations strategy for seeing, purchasing and using traditional Okinawa textiles and bingata.  The exhibition runs 9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. during the seven-day period.  Admission is free.
