Pro soccer teams turn to Okinawa for winter training

The weather’s cold in mainland Japan and in Korea, and that’s enough to make professional sports team gaze upon Okinawa’s mild winters with favor, deciding to make this the winter training ground.

Four Japanese J-League teams have opted to use Okinawa as the winter training base, as has a Korean team.  FC Tokyo is now settled in at Kuina Eco & Sports Park in Kunigami to train until February 3rd, while the SaganTosu picked Yomitan as the winter headquarters until February 12th.  JEF United Ichihara and Chiba elected Tamagusuku in Nanjo City.  The teams will train there until February 7th.

The Jeju United Football Club of the Korean League is now in Nakagusuku.  They’re training at Gosamaru Sports Park until February 14th.
