Classical concert series continues at Sugar Hall

Junko Yabiku is the driving force behind an ongoing series of classical concerts in Okinawa.

It’s an evening of classical music coming up at Sugar Hall in Nanjo City featuring Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven and Akutagawa.

The magical evening is next Friday, March 15th, bringing more than 20 strings players together under the baton of Junko Yabiku, one of the most famous violinists in Okinawa.  She appears not only on various classical concerts in Okinawa, but also on television and radio programs, and at workshops.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. concert start.  Advance general admission tickets are ¥2,500, or ¥2,800 at the door to Sugar Hall, in Sashiki, Nanjo City.  Student advance tickets are ¥1,000 or ¥1,300 at the door.  All seats are non-reserved.

Featured will be Junko Yabiku, Asano Mekaru, Yukako Matsuyama, and Ryu Takamiyagi.  They’ll be performing J.S. Bach’s Concerto for 2 violins d-minor BWV 1043, A. Vivaldi’s Concerto for 4 violins h-minor Op. 3-10, L. van Beethoven’s Grosse Fuga Op. 133, and Yasushi Akutagawa’s Tryptyque for String Orchestra.
