The park has plenty of parking areas available at its entrance.

An every-other-month outdoor market in northern Okinawa welcomes visitors at the Yaedake Sakura Forest Park in Motobu Town Sunday.

The Forest Market this go-around is named ‘Spring Market’ because of the many articles available related to flowers or spring.  Many items needed in spring will be sold on the line, according to organizers who say visitors can enjoy both the market and a pleasant picnic with music in the woods.

The sprawling parking lot near the forest holds 400 cars, making it easy to attend, park and relax.  Visitors can enjoy picnics alongside the market at the well developed open field adjacent to the market.  The main area is divided into a Handmade Area, Flea Area, Food Area and Vintage area, with each area hosting stories of its own category.

A kids’ workshop just for kids will offer opportunities for youngsters to make wooden chairs by themselves.  Members of Hige Production will help and assist kids wanting to give this a try.

The Forest Market is free from 11 a.m. ~ 5 p.m.  Yaedake Sakura Forest Park is locaed at Namizato in Motobu Town, Kunigami County. Driving from Nago towards Motobu on Route 84, Yaedake is on the left just before the road enters into Motobu Town itself.
