The winner of this week’s Japan Update raffle is Jeffrey Bahian who won a pair of tickets to Ryukyu Golden Kings’ basketball game.

Jeffrey is originally from the Philippines, but has lived the past three years on Okinawa, and island he describes as “awesome!” As of his future plans, he says that he is not sure when he is going to leave the island. “I really don’t know, but it looks like we are going to stay here for a very long time,” he says.

He says that he is especially fond of the fresh seafood many places here serve. “My absolutely favorite food is sashimi with plenty of wasabi,” he states. Adding that he also loves the local culture, and peace an order that prevails here.

Being born in a tropical country, he is interested in seeing how people in colder places live. “I would love to visit Hokkaido one day, although I don’t think I would like to live there. It’s probably too cold for me,” he concludes.
