Yuma Tomori, a junior high school student, died after being hit by a car driven by a beautician from Urasoe, Saturday, about 11:15 p.m. The accident took place on route 330 at the Iso district of Urasoe City.

According to police investigation, the boy had tried to cross the road at a spot that has a center divider. The car approached the spot from north and hit the boy. In the collision the boy suffered severe injuries to his head and neck.  He was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead about an hour later.

According to Urasoe Police, the site of the accident was near Ohira intersection on route 330 where the street has two lanes each way separated by a divider. The boy tried to climb over the divider and when crossing the road, was hit by the car. The boy was on the way home from an event in Ginowan City, and tried to cross the road in order to catch a taxi.
