Two 16-year-old boys badly beaten by gang of youths
Nago Police arrested four teenage boys on suspicion of assaulting a 16-year-old high school boy and a construction worker of the same age.
Police say a gang of four boys attacked the two in a park in Nago City between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. All boys involved in the incident are from northern part of Okinawa. The four are suspected of inflicting serious injuries on the two as a result of the assault, in which the attackers used wooden stick to beat the two victims. The construction worker suffered a broken jaw, and the high school student had several facial contusions.
Investigators say that one of the accused youths denies taking part in the assault, while another one is denying part of the accusation. The police are continuing questioning the suspects. They say that they have not been able to establish the motive for the attack, but add that all boys involved seem to know each other.
