Junior high students running from police hit by car
Two junior high school students, who rode a motorcycle escaping a chasing police car, were hit by a car driven by a woman at the Kouei intersection, in Urasoe City, in the evening of June 15.
According to Urasoe Police, the car driver tried to turn right at the intersection onto Hwy 330. The two boys on the motorcycle rode into the intersection and crashed with the car.
Police say a patrol car had stopped the boys earlier, and when they were asked to show their drivers license, they run away. The police patrol gave a chase, but had to give up because of a traffic jam. The accident occurred five minutes later.
The boy who drove the motorcycle broke his left leg, and the other boy who was on the backseat suffered a skull fracture. Their injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the car was not injured.
