Bullfighting heads to Murasaki-mura
Bullfights Okinawa style are a sight to behold, with competition without the bloodshed associated with European and Mexican battles on the arena.
The family fun takes place Sunday from 6 p.m. ~ 9 p.m. at the Murasaki-mura bullfighting arena. It is an event geared to the family, with both the in-arena action and commentary at the venue that explains all about the basic rules of Bullfights Okinawa Style. As if that’s not enough, there will be traditional Eisa performed during the evening.
Admission is ¥1,500 in advance for adults, or ¥1,800
at the door. Kids up to elementary school age pay ¥800 in advance or ¥1,000 at the gate. Admission is free to kids under 3. All seats are ‘free seating’, and there are booths serving foods and beverages. As a bonus, visitors can take pictures of themselves with the bulls.
Murasaki Mura is located in Yomitan next to Nikko Alivila Resort Hotel at 1020-1 Takashiho, Yomitan.
