Man robbed of ¥900,000 in cash at knife point
A robber pointed a knife at a man and grabbed his bag containing ¥900,000 in cash in the evening of Aug. 29 in Adaniya, Nakagusuku Village.
According to police, the victim had stopped by the JA Okinawa Nakagusuku bank branch to deposit the proceedings of his daily business into the night deposit slot of the bank. Immediately after stopping by the bank, the robber jumped at him threatening him with a knife. He then grabbed the bag containing the money, and sped away on a black scooter-type motorbike.
The victim immediately called the police to report the robbery. He told police that the robber wore a helmet, so he could not see his face. The police continue to search for the culprit.
