Vendors wanted for Oct. 26-27 Okinawa Tomodachi Works

Onna Village has created a new opportunity for Okinawans, Japanese and foreigners to get to know each other better, via Okinawa Tomodachi Works, a community event planned for late October.

The event itself takes place October 26th and 27th at the Onna Village Community Center parking lot, but the search is on now for vendors to set up foods and beverage booths, handicrafts, and even flea market style booths selling “things you don’t need in your house”.  Organizers of Okinawa Tomodachi Works say they’re looking forward to making new friends with tourists from across Japan, as well as the military community and, of course, Okinawans.

Okinawa Tomodachi Works organizers are looking for performers, and have booths filled with fresh fruits and vegetables planned, too.  On top of that, Okinawa fishermen will be providing fresh seafood.

Americans, other foreigners, Okinawans and Japanese are all invited to establish booths to participate.  Contact Ayumi Jourden or Yoshiko Takahashi at eddie.kenny@i.softbank.jp, or contact Ayumi at 080-3167-3061.
