On Oct. 17^th at 7 am, a man was found floating at Nakazato Port in Kume Island.

According to Kume police, Masahide Maezato, a restaurant employee, was in cardiac arrest when he was found. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

According to investigators, Maezato had told a friend previous night that was going skin diving. Police considers the incident to be a swimming accident.
