Most of the entertainment at Kitanakagusuku Festival is done by local people.

Kitanakagusuku Village is organizing it’s annual festival for the 28th time this weekend. The two-day festival will be held at Shiosai Court next to a prefecture public housing complex by Nakagusuku Bay on the east coast of the island.

The first day of the event that runs from 2 to 9 p.m. on both days will be performances by many local resident groups, including Shimabukuro Elementary School brass band, Karate clubs, baton twirling, hula dance, traditional Philippine dance, Kishaba lion dance and many other groups show their skills in the course of the festival.

On the second day the stage will be a more hip, and more upbeat with street dances, Tahitian dance, and bands MODASEA, All Japan Goith and others playing their hearts out.

This is a good opportunity for the whole family to have some fun.
