Dozens of stores set for Okinawa City Craft Fair
A four-day Okinawa City Craft Fair opens Thursday at the Plaza House Shopping Center, featuring more than five dozen area stores specializing in Okinawa arts and crafts.
Admission is free to the 12th Okinawa City Craft Fair, which takes place on the first, second and third floors of the Plaza House in Okinawa City. The Craft Fair is open each day, including today, from 10 a.m. ~ 8 p.m. A highlight of the Okinawa City Craft Fair will be an auction beginning at noon on Friday.
Shuttle busses will run between Okinawa City Hall and Plaza House Shopping Center on both Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the Craft Fair, individuals who purchase more than ¥1,000 in merchandise will receive ¥100 discount coupons.
All products shown and sold at the Craft Fair are made in Okinawa. Included are china, woodwork, glass, dying and textile, leather, accessories, audio gear and guitars. Admission is free, and organizers point out that while everything is for sale at bargain prices, there are no requirements for purchases. At some booths, there will be opportunities for visitors to observe crafts being created.
