An elderly woman crossing a street was killed when a car ran over her, Thursday, in Ishigaki City.

According to Ishigaki Police, 86-year-old Mitsuko Ishigaki was jaywalking across a street when she was hit by a car driven by a 47-year-old business owner. She was taken to a hospital, but she died early next morning due to an arrhythmia caused by loss of blood.

There is no pedestrian crossing at the site of the accident.
