A passerby discovered a man’s body lying near the north end of Hyakuna Beach in Tamagusuku, Nanjo City, Monday morning.

When Yonabaru Police and local fire department rescue crew arrived at the scene, they found the body of a 66-year-old Yonabaru resident lying on the beach. He was confirmed dead on the spot.

The dead man was wearing paragliding equipment when found, and investigators say that he likely died as a result of some kind of an accident.

Police investigation to the cause of the accident continues.
