Elderly woman falls for Lotto 6 fraud
Okinawa and Tomigusuku City Police announced May 21st that a woman in her 60s was told she would be able to receive the winning numbers for Lotto 6 ahead of the lottery, and was tricked to pay ¥2.7 million for the information.
According to the Prefectural Police, this year three similar incidents had occurred in the prefecture by the 19th. The total amount the victims lost is ¥12.2 million. Police are spreading word to not trust any person who approaches claiming to be able to provide ahead of the game the winning numbers for the lotto.
