Free shows and classes offered in Naha hall

An event space called “Hiyamichika Machigwa Hall” was opened, May 31st, on the 2nd floor of the Makishi Public Market in Naha City,

The hall will be open on most days until next February with live shows of Okinawa performing arts, picture-story shows, Okinawan music and stand-up comedy. The stage is available to all performers and groups for free, giving them a place to show off their performance to the public.

The hall also features a standing exhibition of Tsuboya Pottery from the era before the war. Okinawa language classes, Sanshin classes and classes on how to put on a Ryukyu kimono are also held, all for free of charge.
