Chatan’s newest resort is open for business

The new Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort & Spa opened for business yesterday.

The central Okinawa western skyline is brighter today as the Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort opens its doors, featuring 346 guest rooms, including a dozen suites –with 286 units facing the emerald blue waters of the East China Sea—in one of the island’s most popular tourist areas.

Located behind the Mihama American Village and Depot Island shopping and entertainment complex, the Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort sports the Shinka Restaurant featuring Okinawan, Japanese and international cuisine, while the Corrente is an authentic Italian restaurant.  For sheer relaxation for guests, there’s also the Mahru Lobby Lounge.  For the business and convention-oriented guests, the complex features one of Okinawa’s largest ballrooms, capable of accommodating upwards of 330 people in a banquet setting.

Of course, a resort has swimming pools, and the Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort has two outdoor swimming pools designed for both adults and children, as well as a heated indoor pool, a spa and a fitness center.  The complex is steeped in gardens to absorb the tranquility of Okinawa days and nights.

The resort is touting its thinking of the needs of every type visitor, with accommodations including standard rooms, executive rooms and suites. Many are interconnecting to fit the special requirements of large families or groups.  Modern in every way, and futuristic in some, the rooms feature separate showers and bathtubs, as well as rain showers, 40-inch televisions, in-room safes and, of course, Wi-Fi.

The business traveler is represented with not only the Grand Ballroom seating 400 buffet style or 330 for banquets, but also with a pair of smaller ballrooms, plus three meeting rooms than can take care of groups of 30~60.  There’s also a Boardroom for those intimate, executive sessions involving a dozen or fewer participants.

The Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort is only 45 minutes from Naha International Airport, and only a 15-minute ride to the Okinawa Convention Center in nearby Ginowan City, which is structured for large conferences, conventions and exhibitions.
