Live performances headline Tomigusuku Festival
Special live performances from four leading local bands set the tempo for this weekend’s 31st Tomigusuku Festival in southern Okinawa.
Admission is free to the festival, which features live performances from MAX, Da Pump, Daichi Miura, and Lead and Fairies. On Saturday there will also be on stage performances from young artists from 3:30 to 5 p.m., followed by a 2nd stage from 5:55 to 8:55 p.m. A special performance by Pink Diamond, Fairies and Daichi Miura will be followed by fireworks at 8:45 p.m.
Sunday excitement begins at 2 p.m. with the All Okinawa children’s eisa. Special performances will be starting at 6:50 p.m. featuring Lead, Da Pump and MAX, followed by fireworks at 8:50 p.m. The festival
takes place at Toyosaki Churasun Beach ~ Toyosaki Seaside Park Beach Park Multi-purpose space from noon to 9 p.m. each day.
A summer festival hosted by Tomigusuku City, with the Tomigusuku Youth Eisa Festival and the All-Okinawa Children’s Eisa Festival, is being held concurrently with the principal festival on Saturday. The kids’ festival will include various performances such as eisa and lion dances, drum performances, karate demonstrations and a stick performance by 600 youngsters from all over Okinawa.
Visitors can also take part in a hands-on craft lesson or listen to live music shows throughout this two-day festival. A colorful fireworks display will light up the night sky for the finale.
