The Nago Fire Station Headquarters, currently located in Agarie, will be moving to Okita in the fiscal year 2016.

The new headquarters feature larger and improved training buildings plus a heliport for emergency helicopters serving the northern parts of the island.

In addition, the current headquarter facilities are located only three meters above the sea level, which is a concern as officials say they are afraid that the fire station would not be able to function if a tsunami would occur. The new facility will be on much higher ground about 21 meters above the sea level.
