New hotel plan aimed to serve red eye flights

16 hotels on Okinawa have introduced a “super early check-in plan” that is available for passengers who fly in on so called “red eye” flights provided by All Nippon Airways (ANA) from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Naha.

The daily flights are offered for a limited time starting from this Friday and continuing through the end of August. They depart from Haneda at midnight and arrive at Okinawa at 2:30 a.m. Check-in at the participating hotels will be available after 3 a.m. and the plan lets the travelers to stay until the morning of the second day.

Tickets for red eye flights are cheaper than daytime flights, and 150 seats are available. About 80% of the flights have already been booked, according to an ANA spokesman.
