Ospreys to move until construction complete at Henoko

Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera mentioned at a press conference, Tuesday, the possibility of temporary use of the Saga Airport in the northwestern Kyushu in the case operations at the MCAS Futenma can’t be stopped within five years.

On the same day, vice minister Ryota Takeda visited Saga Prefecture Governor Yasushi Furukawa asking for understanding of a temporary use of Saga Airport by U.S. Military Osprey MV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft.

Regarging the provisional use of the Saga Airport, Onodera made it clear, “this would happen in the case construction at Henoko is not completed within five years, and that the construction at Henoko is in fact advancing.”
