Okinawan sumo is a local favorite at Kin Festival.

Festivals abound across Okinawa this weekend, with a small town on the northeast coast hosting its Kin Town Festival.

Kin Town has its own style kachashi.

Kin Town’s chosen the theme “The spirit of Kin in our hearts” for this year’s festival, which runs Saturday 10 a.m. ~ 9 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. ~ 9 p.m.  The action is at two locations: Kin Town Athletic Field  [map: https://goo.gl/maps/2axry] and Central Community Center [map: https://goo.gl/maps/1vHfu].  Admission is free.

Kin Town Festival offers a powerful Okinawa sumo tournament for spectators to enjoy and cheer on, plus live performances from a group everybody is talking about, Sky’s the Limit, on Saturday. There is also a performance from the come back of ZUKAN, and there will be some jaw dropping fireworks on both days.
