Basic plans to relocate Tomari fish market in Naha to Itoman was made public on Monday.

The new market to be constructed in Itoman is going to be 4.4 times larger than the current facility. It will be an enclosed type facility with high technology hygiene management.

Within the premises there will also be a sanitation inspection facility for customs inspectors as the plans call for making use of the Naha Airport hub to increase exports to Southeast Asia.

The new fish market is scheduled to be completed by 2017
