Taiko drum performance

Okinawa’s traditional entertainment is center stage this weekend as the 10^th Uruma Culture Festival presents three programs.

The festival is at the Uruma Theatre, 175 Nakamine, Uruma City. (Map: https://goo.gl/maps/Apv3f) Admission is ¥1,000 for adults and high school students.  Junior high students and younger are admitted free to the performances.

Ryukyu dance

there will be a single performance on Saturday at 6 p.m.  Sunday will feature the same programs starting at 2 and 6 p.m.

The event is filled with Okinawa’s traditional classical music, sanshin, Ryukyu dance, and Japanese traditional dance. There will also be karate, drums, and more modern performances featuring hip hop dance and karaoke.
