According to the Statistics Division of Okinawa Prefectural Government, the average monthly salary of all employees in May at local companies with five employees or more was ¥206,209. That is a 3.8-percent decline from the same month a year ago.

The monthly salary for permanent employees, was ¥255,890 including over-time pay. Part-timers were paid the average of ¥89,963 per month.

Total working hours per person declined by 1.9% to 148 hours per month, while overtime work increased by 1.3%, to 8 hours.
