Aeon Bank to open office, ATMs in Okinawa outlets
Aeon Bank, Ltd., a subsidiary pf Aeon Co.,Ltd., a major Japanese retail company, is planning to launch a manned counter at the new Aeon Mall Okinawa Rycom shopping center now under construction in Kitanakagusuku and scheduled to open next spring.
It’s the first time for Aeon Bank to open a branch in Okinawa. Aeon Bank started business in 2007, and operates ATM machines and branch offices in commercial facilities of the Aeon group that do business in financial products like housing loans, insurance and mutual funds.
According to Aeon Bank officials, they plan to install about 80 ATM machines in Aeon stores in Okinawa. There are about 130 of Aeon Bank branches throughout the country, most of which are usually open 365 days a year.
Aeon Bank conducts lending mostly for tenants in Aeon Group facilities. As of the end of March 2014, the account balance in Aeon Bank was 1 trillion 715.7 billion yen with outstanding loans at 1 trillion 14.1 billion yen.
