Tasting and advice on how to cook are also offered at the festa.

The 3^rd Nuchigusui Festa, a festival featuring organic and natural farmed vegetables, is showcasing its wares Saturday and Sunday in Okinawa City.

Local farm producers are ready to share their knowledge with visitors at Nuchigusui Fest.

The festival is also a sales event, where people can purchase fresh and safe organic vegetables from farm producers face-to-face.  Admission is free to the festival, which runs Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. ~ 4 p.m. at the Okinawa Farming Training Center, 2380 Noborikawa, Okinawa City.

Other than vegetables, there’s to be a lecture meeting by an agriculture doctor, and a mini music concert.  Masami Aniya and Acchan live performances are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.

Live performances by local youth groups are scheduled for both days.

Visitors, who want to know how to make good fertilizer, are in luck as the festival offers a free class. Another of the highlights in the festival schedule is a cooking seminar by a popular food planner, Kae Izena.  She will lecture at 1 p.m. Sunday about local typical vegetables, and will have a tasting session, too.

The Nuchigusui Festa venue is next door to Noborikawa Farmers’ Market. To get to the Festa, from Kadena Air Base Gate 3, go straight toward Chibana Housing and Camp Shields. Nearing Route 329, the market is on the left, just before the intersection.
