TripAdvisor.com, one of the world’s most popular travel websites, announced Feb. 18th its annual list of the best beaches in the world as voted by visitors to the website.

In the category of the Best Beach in Japan 2015, Yonaha-Maehama beach in Miyako Island was voted for the first place for the third year in a row. Two other beaches on Miyako Island, Aragusuku and Sunayama beaches were voted for the 4th and 8th place confirming that increasing popularity of the so called “Miyako blue beaches” with tourists.

The company rated the beaches based on the voting on its websites during the year from October 2013 to September 2014 by tourists around the world.

Yonaha-Maehama Beach came to the 15th place in the category of the Best 25 Beaches in Asia.  The second and third most popular beaches in Japan were Nishihama beach on Hateruma Island and Kondoi beach on Taketomi Island.
