The construction of the new Chubu Tokushu-kai Hospital has been in progress at a site in front of the AEON Mall Okinawa Rycom in Kitanakagusuku Village.

Once the construction is finished, the existing Tokushu-kai Hospital in Okinawa City will relocate to the new building that is rising on the site that used to be the location of the U.S. Military Awase Golf Course clubhouse.

As of April 23rd, about 45 % of the total construction has been done. The new hospital is scheduled to open in April 2016. The total floor space in the new facility is 50,194 square meters and it will have 331 beds.  When completed the building will have 12 floors, making it one of the largest hospitals on Okinawa.

Kiyoshi Iha, the head of the hospital says, “We will give our all to make this the ‘must-have’ hospital for local people.”
