A Cessna 127 light aircraft belonging to Kadena Aero Club based on Kadena Air Base made a rough landing that left the aircraft slightly damaged at Kerama Airport in Zamami Village, about noon on Sunday.

The aircraft ended about 20 meters outside of the runway on the grass.  There were four American passengers. None of them was injured.  The propeller of the plane was broken.

According to airport officials, a male pilot of the aircraft explained, “The propeller touched the ground about in the middle of the runway because of strong wind, and the aircraft swerved to the right from the course after bouncing several times.”

The four were slated to visit the island for leisure.
