China Eastern connects Naha and Fuzhou; Hangzhou from 17th

The China Eastern Airlines started regular flights between Naha and Fuzhou in China on Jul. 1st. The inauguration of the new route marks the first time ever for regular flights between Naha and Fuzhou.

The first flight carried 125 passengers from Fuzhou to Naha Airport. The carrier runs two round trips per week on the route on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In addition, the China Eastern Airlines announced that it is scheduled to open another new route connecting Naha and Hangzhou in China. That route will also offer two round trips per week on Tuesdays and Fridays starting Jul. 17th.

Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga had asked China’s prime minister, Li Keqiang for establishing the new route between Naha and Fuzhou when he visited Beijing in April this year. Fuzhou is a city that has deep historical ties with Okinawa.
