Uruma Police arrested a 16-year-old male high school student on the night of Jul. 12th on suspicion of an attempted murder.

According to police officials, the boy is suspected of trying to kill his girlfriend’s mother about 7:20 p.m. Sunday, by hitting her three times on the head with a wooden bat in her apartment in Kinaka, Uruma City.

The mother was taken to a hospital with a head injury that is not life threatening.

The boy went to visit the apartment to see his girlfriend, but the mother did not allow him to see the girl. The boy then fetched a wooden baseball bat from the hallway outside of the apartment, and entered using a spare key that he had, and attacked the mother.

The boy has told to investigators that the girl goes the same high school with him, and is still his girlfriend. “Her mother did not let me see her daughter, so I was supposed to kill her,” he is reported as saying.
