Okinawa Latina 2015 is a music event fused with Okinawan and Latin soul and produced by Alberto Shiroma, best known for his band Diamantes, a popular local Okinawa Latina 2015 event sends message of ‘Amor y Paz’

The theme of the Okinawa Latina 2015 event is “Amor y Paz” (Love and Peace), and organizers aim at promoting a society, in which people across cultural, racial, religious and color lines can live together in mutual admiration and cooperation. An additional goal is to send the world a message of ‘Love and Peace’ from Okinawa, an island where a large variety of people from different backgrounds live.

Alberto Shiroma, best known for his popular Latin band ‘Diamantes’ is the force behind Okinawa Latina 2015 event.

Musicians and dancers from in and outside of the island who love Okinawan and Latin music will gather together for the event. Specifically, a special guest, young hot Salsa band, ‘Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor’ from Cuba that is very popular throughout Latin America and Europe as well, is scheduled to put on a show of its exciting performance. The band has won a number of awards, and is considered one of the top musical acts in the world for its popularity and ability. Other artists scheduled on stage are Yuki Taira, Conjunto Alegria, Soluna, Hajime Kawakami, Hideki Maesato, guest dancer Patty, and Karate performer and dancer Sachiko Isa.

The event takes place on the 3rd floor of Koza Music Town Sound Market on Sunday, Aug. 16th, starting at 5 p.m. Tickets in advance are ¥4,500 and ¥5,000 at door. In addition, participants are expected to order one drink costing ¥500.
