A large motorcycle crashed into a bicycle early Saturday morning on Kaichu Road in Yonashiro-Yahira, Uruma City. Both the driver of the motorcycle and the bicyclist died as the result of the accident.

According to police investigation, 43-year-old U.S. military base employee Masaki Kinoshita from Henza was driving his 1,000cc motorcycle on Kaichu Road towards Yonashiro, when he is suspected of crashing into a bicycle, driven by 46-year-old businessman Kazuhiko Yamashiro from Takaesu, Uruma City.

There were no eyewitnesses to the accident but a passerby who came to the scene shortly afterwards called police. Both victims were taken unconscious to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The motorcycle had fallen on the ground about 300 meters from the spot where the bicycle was found. According to Uruma Police, the front end of the motorcycle was badly damaged, while the rear wheel of the bicycle was destroyed. That is leading investigators to the conclusion that the motorbike is likely to have hit the bicycle.
